This privacy policy relates to all personal data that we collect during your interactions with Würth, for example when you visit our website, purchase products from us, subscribe to the newsletter, contact the customer service, make a job application, etc.

In connection with customers, Würth limits its personal data collection to the following:

  • Financial and economic data (Invoices);
  • Banking details (Bank account details).

If you wish to use our 24h shop or our Orsymat dispenser and ordering machine with one or more badges, we shall also collect connection (logging) data from you.

1.2. As a supplier of Würth

Würth limits its personal data collection from suppliers to the following:

  • Identification and contact details (Name, e-mail, telephone number, etc.);
  • Professional data (Enterprise number, profession, etc.);
  • Banking details (Bank account).

1.3. As a job applicant

Würth limits its personal data collection from job applicants to the following:

  • Identification and contact details (Name, e-mail, telephone number, etc.);
  • Professional data (CV, motivation letter and evaluations).

In some cases, these personal data can be further supplemented with connection data (references).

1.4. As a visitor to the website

When you visit the website, we collect a number of personal data from you through cookies. For this, we would however like to refer you to the cookie policy on our website.

2. Why do we collect personal data from you

2.1. As a customer of Würth

We collect and process personal data from customers for the following purposes:

  • To process orders;
  • To maintain customer relations;
  • For market research purposes;
  • To send you personal offers and advertisements;
  • To handle questions and problems concerning our products and services.

Subject to your explicit consent, your contact details may also be used to send you newsletters.

2.2. As a supplier of Würth

We collect and process personal data from suppliers for the following purposes:

  • To ensure optimum collaboration and maintenance of supplier relationships;
  • Placing and paying for orders.

As a job applicant

We collect and process your personal data for the following purposes;

  • To conduct an effective and efficient recruitment and selection procedure;
  • Subsequent communication for a (different) vacancy within a period of 1 year.

How do we acquire your personal data

3.1. As a customer of Würth

We obtain your personal data that you directly provide to us. This may happen via a registration in a shop, via the website, or via an account manager. In some cases, we may obtain your personal data via public databases or acquaintances. In that case, we shall notify you concerning the same at the time of our first contact with you, as required by the law.

3.2. As a supplier of Würth

We obtain your personal data that you provide to us directly or that you make public with the option to contact you.

3.3. As a job applicant

We obtain the personal data that you provide to us via your job application. In addition, we may also appeal to third parties (previous employers) for references.

4. With whom do we share your personal data

We share your personal data with third parties that provide us with communications and IT services insofar as this is necessary for our processing.

4.1. As a customer of Würth

For you as a customer, this shall include but not be limited to the third parties Würth IT, Würth Phoenix, Ricoh and Flexmail.

4.2. As a supplier of Würth

For you as a supplier, this shall include but not be limited to the third party Würth IT.

4.3. As a job applicant

For you as a job applicant, this shall include but not be limited to the third parties CV Warehouse, Thalento, Stepstone and possible temporary employment offices.

We however assure you that all our third parties shall take the necessary measures to guarantee your privacy.

5. How long do we retain your personal data

We undertake not to store your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we have collected the same.

5.1. As a customer of Würth

We shall store personal data of customers for a maximum period of 10 years after the last purchase.

5.2. As a supplier of Würth

We shall store personal data of suppliers for a maximum period of 10 years after the last purchase.

5.3. As a job applicant

We shall store personal data of job applicants for a maximum period of 1 year after the job application procedure.

If however, we wish to keep your data for a longer period of time, we shall request your explicit consent for the same.

6. How do we protect your personal data

Würth shall do everything possible to ensure your privacy. For this purpose, we have implemented security technologies and measures in order to ensure the availability, confidentiality and integrity of your personal data. In addition, the number of employees who have access to your personal data shall be strictly limited and they shall also be carefully selected. These employees are only granted access insofar as they require this information to perform their duties properly. In addition, new projects that could possibly impact your privacy are extensively analysed in order to guarantee your rights and the security and protection of your personal data. If however an incident involving your personal data does occur, you shall be personally notified subject to the circumstances provided under the law.

7. Your rights

If you share your personal data with Würth, you will have a number of rights over the same. Würth respects these rights and gives high priority to transparency and accuracy of your personal data. As an individual, you shall therefore have the right to:

  • Modification (rectification) of your personal data if incorrect or incomplete;
  • Temporary (or definitive) restriction on the processing of your personal data*;
  • Erasure of your personal data**;
  • You may object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

* In connection with these rights, you should take into account that it may no longer be possible for Würth to offer you certain services. Thus, it may no longer be possible for you to purchase products from Würth or to contact you for potential job vacancies.

**Würth reserves the right to determine whether or not your request is justified. In addition, in some cases, we are required to preserve data for specific statutory retention periods, and consequently we may not be able to fully comply with your request for erasure of data. In that case we shall evaluate which personal data we may delete if necessary, and notify you concerning the same.

If you have any further complaints about compliance with the privacy policy, please contact us first. If thereafter you still have an unresolved issue which you feel we have not addressed in the required manner, please contact the Data Protection Authority.

If you wish to exercise your rights or wish to lodge complaints, we request you to first identify yourself with a copy of the front page of your identity card in order to prevent another person from doing this in your name. We shall immediately delete the aforesaid copy after verification. In addition, we will also always ask you to be as specific as possible so that we can optimally fulfil your requirements. We will always be ready to answer you within the legally stipulated period of 30 days.
